"With glowing hearts
We see thee rise
The True North, strong and free
From far and wide
O Canada
We stand on guard for thee"
The Constitution Act of July 1, 1867 marks the day the three British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada united to form a single country. "O Canada" has served as a de facto national anthem since 1939, officially becoming the country's national anthem in 1980 as part of that year's Dominion Day (now known as Canada Day) celebrations. Happy Canada Day to all friends and family! 🇨🇦
Oh Canada
July 1st is Canada Day!
"O Canada" is the Canadian National Anthem:
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
Ô Canada!
Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
